James Ronald Warner (1926 – )
While Ron Warner and his wife Mary (Lacey) and their family of four were developing an outstanding herd of Holsteins, Ron was also serving his community in many ways.
The Ronbeth herd has been recognized worldwide, and has sold breeding stock and embryos into more than 20 countries. Ronbeth has received several All Canadian and All American Nominations, and has been Premier Breeder and/or Premier Exhibitor at the county level many times.
The ultimate award however is a Master Breeder Shield awarded by Holstein Canada in 1978.
Ron Warner has been a leader of organizations such as minor hockey, the Norwood Fair, his church and many agricultural groups. He also canvassed for Heart and Stroke Association and the Cancer Society for more than 20 years. His church life included singing in the choir, Sunday School superintendent, Clerk of Session and the Board of Trustees.
He is past president of the Norwood Agricultural Society, Peterborough County Milk Committee and past director of United Breeders Inc.
Recognition and awards have come to Ron Warner from several sources: Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Award, Peterborough and District Chamber of Commerce Farm Family of the Year, Norwood Fair Agricultural Service Award and the Peterborough County Federation of Agriculture Long Standing Service Award.
