Proudly honouring the outstanding agricultural achievements of:
Carolyn (Vansickle) & David Brackenridge (1944-2023)
Active community volunteers with 55+ years of dedication to agricultural organizations,
including 4-H, the Millbrook Fair, Federation of Agriculture, Pork Producers, Canadian Foodgrains, and the regional Barn Quilt Trail; rural business leaders and founders of the multifaceted
Squirrel Creek Farms Ltd; 1992 Peterborough County “Farm Family of the Year.”

The Honourable Elmer Buchanan, E.C.O.
A lifelong farmer, educator, public servant, and advocate for rural communities. Former Ontario
Minister of Agriculture and Food who worked to achieve accreditation and stabilized funding for
Ontario’s farm organizations. Active in the provincial horse racing commission, Farmers’ Markets
Ontario, the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission, and the Federation of Agriculture.

Julia (Rekker) & Frank Hoftyzer
Deeply committed in their commodity organizations, the Hoftyzers have taken on numerous
local and provincial leadership roles within the Christian Farmers Federation, and the dairy,
beef, goat and cropping sectors. Supporters of on-farm research and agricultural awareness,
they have hosted many farm tours and were instrumental in the publication of the
Peterborough County Agri-Notes newsletter.

Mona (Taylor) & Kenneth Humphries (1933-2024)
On land that has been in the family since 1823, the Humphries operated Riverview Centennial Farm, a mixed commodity and custom farming operation. Active community volunteers with 4-H, the Norwood Fair, agricultural awareness initiatives, and over 40 years on the Peterborough County Plowman’s Association. Recipients of the Peterborough County Agricultural Leadership Award.
