Carol (Lacey) (1956 – ) and Dean Warner (1953 – )
Dean Warner was raised at Ronbeth Holsteins in Asphodel Township. He farmed in partnership with his father and brother. Carol joined Dean in dairy farming following their 1985 marriage. In 2016, they became full owners of Ronbeth with their two daughters. Ronbeth Holsteins is one of only four four-time Canadian Master Breeder Herds.
Dean, a graduate of the University of Guelph, was a 4-H and Junior Farmer member. He served as County President in 1978. He was also President of the Peterborough County 4-H Association and a leader for 43 years. In recognition of his contributions, he won the 4-H Ontario Arbour Award.
Dean held leadership roles with the Peterborough County Holstein Club, Agricultural Societies, Memorial Centre Board, and the Ontario Summer Holstein Show. In 2002, Dean was the Ontario Holstein Branch President. He was a Holstein Canada judge for 30 years, judging around the world, including the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair’s 4-H Showmanship Competition.
Carol, a graduate of Algonquin College, was a 4-H leader and organized many 4-H Awards Nights. She was also Vice Chair of the Peterborough County Agricultural Heritage Building Committee. Carol was inducted into the Hall of Honour at Adam Scott Collegiate for her volunteerism.
They were founding members of the Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association USA/Canada. Carol co-chaired five International Family Conferences and has supported others by sharing their family’s experiences caring for a child with a complex illness.
The Warners were awarded 2002 Peterborough County Farm Family of the Year and one of BMO’s 10 Outstanding Ontario Farm Families in 2016.
